On September 26, 2017, Johnny Owens and the Buck Fever Band performed with a large group of performers at the Great Kern County Fair, in Bakersfield, California, to pay tribute to the rich country music history in and around Bakersfield, California, during the 1950's, '60's, and '70's. The free concert to fairgoers entitled A Walk Through Memory Lane with a Fabulous Tribute to the Bakersfield Sound, produced and promoted by Rick "Reno" Stevens, owner of RRS Entertainment, LLC, was very successful. Along with Johnny Owens, the following performers made the tribute very entertaining and memorable: Robert Price, Rick Russell, Rick "Reno" Stevens, Ernie Lewis, Don Kidwell, Annie Kidwell, Jennifer Keel, Ed Shelton, Victor Sanz, Theresa Spanke, Brian Lonbeck, Ronnie Smith, Zack Arnold, Teddy Spanke, Gregor Ross, Drew Harness. Kim McAbee, Kadin Hernandez, JD Hardy, Justin Mcwilliams, Wendy West McWilliams, Mayf Nutter, Susan Raye Wiggins, Vern Monnett, Johny Barnett Jr., Kyle Appleton, Tommy Hays, Bobby Durham, Vince Galindo, Jason Badgley, and Artie Niesen.
